Election related things:
- We Need the Family More than Ever by Sheila Gregoire. Gregoire's blog is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Her primary focus is helping marriages (including with intimate issues) but she's just so down to earth and I find myself nodding along with many of her posts.
- Stop Overthinking the Election. OK, I admit, this one was mostly for me. And my husband. If you've already stopped thinking about the election than you might not need this post.
- Good advice for pastors and church leaders or any Christian really: What We Need Now (and Evermore)
- Plutarch Does it Again. There is nothing new under the sun, folks.
- I was saddened to hear about the death of Barbara Curtis. She was a fantastic author and blogger and great encouragement to many. Pray for her family and contribute if you can.
- Yet another great post from my friend Julie: Four Days Late.
- Many (most?) stay-at-home moms do not stay home because our husbands make a lot of money and we can "afford" to. We stay home because we choose to and we choose to make it work. This post might be a good starting spot for those of you considering it: Staying at Home with Your Kids When You Can Barely Afford It.
- Five Strategies for Teaching Mathphobics. Lots of good math teaching advice on the Afterthoughts blog this week!
- How to Make Sure You Don't Miss Facebook Updates (from people and pages you care about)
- The Houses in Leinster Gardens.I love Great Britain and I love this elaborate "fool the eye" for beauty.
- Stomach bug made its rounds through some of my family recently. I really must keep this recipe for Homemade Pedialyte handy. That stuff is expensive.
- Pomegranates were on sale at Aldis this week. Which means I bought several. Which means I had to figure out how to eat them. This post helped: How to Seed and Juice a Pomegranate.
- Christmas is coming (News flash!) and that might mean you have to put together a gift exchange. This site can help you with that: Draw Names for Your Gift Exchange. Much easier than simply drawing from a hat if you're trying to be sure no one gets their own name or their own child's name, etc.
I really want to make this. I had a similar meal at Buca di Beppo one time and I loved it:
And I don't know if I've mentioned it before but I'm crazy for artichokes. Which means I also really want to make this Crab & Artichoke Dip. Now.
So, what caught your eye this week?

Well I wish you had posted that recipe for pedialyte last week - and yes, that means what you think it does :-( But actually, Lucy probably wouldn't drink it, she absolutely refuses to drink anything other than water or milk - even apple cider and hot chocolate! Weirdo - but more for me!
And that first meal looks very tasty and I don't normally care for shellfish.
I hope we won't be needing the Pedialyte anytime soon ... I live in fear of stomach bugs. I've done enough throwing up for our family in the last three months, thanks! :)
Thanks for linking up! Appreciate you!
