My answer is that I consider myself as introverted and as "homebody-ish" as it is possible to be without crossing over into outright agoraphobia. But that may be stating the matter too strongly, on a given day.
In the Myers-Briggs typology (a test I originally took back in a psychology class in college) I am an INTJ. (See here, if you'd like to take an online version of this test)

I don't think I would say I'm my own best friend (and, side note: I consider Philip my best friend and I consider several other folks close friends) not least because I think that I am often my own worst enemy.

The one thing that annoys me most about the introvert / extrovert question is the assumption that introverts should adapt or learn how to be extroverted. I, probably needless to say, think it should be the other way around.
